Farnsworth Group is working for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) and is providing commissioning services for two of its large hospital campuses in Atlanta, GA. This $314 million campus expansion will include additional space for an Emergency Department, Radiology and Cancer Center. Farnsworth Group has been retained to commission the following systems:
- Central/Local Air Distribution Systems
- Exhaust Air System
- Pressure Monitoring/Alarming Systems
- Chilled Water System
- Condenser Water System
- Hot Water System
- Building Automation System
Specific commissioning tasks include:
- Develop, review and track construction checklists
- Write and execute functional performance test (FPT) procedures
- Update and distribute commissioning issues logs so that problems can be found and resolved in an expeditious manner.
For Scottish Rite Hospital campus of CHOA, FPT's were conducted in a total of six phases and for the Egleston Hospital Campus, FPT's were conducted in four phases. Pre-FPT meetings were held at least 10 days prior to each phase of testing to verify and confirm readiness of all the relevant parties involved. These meetings improved the success of the entire commissioning effort.
