Farnsworth Group was selected as the Commissioning Authority and LEED Certification consultant for the new 528,000 SF, five-story hospital located in Loveland, Colorado. This project was just recognized as a LEED-NC Gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. Construction of the 134-bed facility was completed in February 2007 at the 91-acre site in east Loveland near Interstate 25 and U.S. 34. The hospital features heart, trauma, and emergency services, along with birthing care, pediatrics, general medical, surgical nursing, diagnostic services, a laboratory, radiology, cafeteria and offices.
Farnsworth provided commissioning services for most HVAC systems, including components and controls. In addition to those commissioned systems, Farnsworth developed and coordinated the execution of the functional testing plan, and observed and documented the performance of proper functioning of systems in accordance with the design intent and contract documents. Farnsworth will provide a 10-month warranty review for Medical Center of the Rockies.
Farnsworth helped to guide Poudre Valley Health Systems and the design and construction team through the LEED for New Construction version 2.2 Certification process. Farnsworth provided specifications relating to LEED documentation and processes, as well as review the design drawings and specifications to verify all necessary LEED requirements were included.
