The new Bank of Illinois building is a key component of an overall revitalization of downtown Normal, Illinois. The four-story, 48,213 SF facility provides for the Bank's current and projected future needs as well as lease space for other tenants.
This building was designed and constructed to achieve LEED certification. It was recently designated a LEED-NC Silver from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The goal of the site planning for this facility was to determine the best, most creative yet practical plan for the redevelopment of the property currently occupied by the Bank and adjacent uses. The process involved collaboration with the Town of Normal, Bank of Illinois, Normal Library, Ecology Action Center and Farnsworth Group. The combination of space programming and site planning issues led to a unique building plan layout that meets the Bank's functional needs while creatively solving challenging site design issues.
In addition to the Bank, the site development also provides for a parking garage that can accommodate 75 spaces per level - up to 375 cars and proposed other commercial development.
