Farnsworth Group is providing commissioning services for the new five story, 163,000 SF building on the UCSF Mission Bay campus.

 

The building includes laboratory research space, offices, a large open atrium, support spaces, cold rooms, a MRI room and a vivarium. The facility will serve as a cancer research center operating the latest in medical technology.

 

Farnsworth's team is commissioning the following systems: central building automation, HVAC, scheduled or occupancy sensor lighting controls, daylight dimming, refrigeration, emergency power generators and automatic transfer switching, uninterruptible power supply, life safety, laboratory pressure differentials, electrical, domestic, D.I. and process water pumping and mixing, vivarium, laboratory equipment, plumbing, vertical support, medical gas and process instrumental and controls.

 

The construction cost is estimated between $78-82 million and is scheduled to be completed by in late 2008.
