The Sidney E. Frank Hall for Life Science Building is 175,000 SF and consolidated the functions of three departments: two departments within the School of Medicine (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Bio Chemistry and Neuroscience) and one in the non-medical science department of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences. The building placement reconnects the Pembroke Campus to the Main Campus Center and houses several laboratories, office space and a vivarium.

Design began in August 2000 and construction was completed in November 2006. In December 2002, Farnsworth, as the Commissioning Authority, joined the project team as the second schematic design was completed.

The systems Farnsworth commissioned included mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and building envelope. The construction cost for the project was $70 million and is currently pursuing a LEED Gold rating.
